Pump.fun was accused of "organizing gambling", which implicated the senior management of the Solana Public Chain Foundation, CEO Anatoly Yakovenko, who skillfully avoided "9 times" without receiving a court appearance notice.
(Preliminary summary: Pump.fun rebounded by more than 60%, Group Coins may be the winner of this Meme competition)
(Background supplement: The data is bleak, the official recommendation is "playing dead", the whole people criticized Pump.fun, but I think it may be the ultimate winner)

Solana has become a public chain star due to its high speed and low handling fees in recent years, but a case targeted the memecoin platform Pump.fun’s RICO lawsuit (related to organized crime) is getting the Solana team entangled in the legal whirlpool.

The lawyers and prosecutors accused Solana Labs, Solana Foundation and Jito Labs of helping Pump.fun build an "illegal digital casino" and focused on Solana CEO Anatoly Yakovenko.

Nine appearance notices "failed to serve"

The lawsuit was jointly filed by Burwick Law and Wolf Popper, citing the U.S. Organized Crime Act (RICO), and named CEO Yakovenko, co-founder Raj Gokal, Solana Foundation Chairman Lily Liu and Jito Labs CEO Lucas Bruder as defendants.

The charges pointed out that Pump.fun accumulated approximately US$722 million in revenue through rapid minting of tokens, charging listing fees, and exploitative designs, involving illegal gambling, fraud and money laundering. The prosecution lawyer emphasized that the defendant Solana senior management not only provided technology, but also extracted benefits from transactions through validator fees and MEV tools, which went beyond a simple infrastructure role. So Jito, who was part of the MEV capture agreement, is also included in the list of defendants.

However, the above-mentioned Solana senior executives, as well as the defendant Jito Foudation senior executives, all avoided receiving court appearance notices by "not finding anyone". At that time, the trial may be postponed or the defendants may not appear in court at all.

Is infrastructure also illegal?

If the court finds that Solana and Jito Labs are "actively profiting", it will break the existing concept that public chains are only neutral channels.

On the other hand, Pump.fun lacks KYC and AML mechanisms and does not verify user age. It may be legally regarded as a hotbed for "unlicensed remittance services" and "money laundering".
